Callen v. Blackwell
In November 2006, a group of Ohio voters filed a lawsuit in Ohio state court challenging the use of electronic voting machines on the grounds that it violated the plaintiffs’ fundamental right to vote. The lawsuit, which named the Ohio Secretary of State as a defendant, followed evidence emerging from the 2004 election in Ohio that revealed the unreliability of DRE voting systems for the counting and recording of votes.
